Our work depends too much on individual employees. Where should we start?
We begin with interviews and observation of the actual work, then map inputs, decisions, outputs and exception handling. Related documents and tools are connected to the flow so that handover requirements and improvement opportunities can be addressed separately.
We created a manual, but no one uses it. What should we do?
We check whether the manual follows the real sequence of work and whether people can quickly reach the information they need. Ownership and update procedures are also defined so the manual can be corrected as people use it.
Where should we start with business process improvement?
We review frequency, time required, errors and rework, then prioritize the workflows creating the greatest burden. Each workflow is considered in the order of removal, consolidation, standardization and automation, beginning with a scope where results can be observed.
